Gradually, without understanding it, my interest was being exhausted. Platforms like YouTube and news outlets were eating my time, fragmenting my focus, and eroding my efficiency. Eventually, I opened YouTube, took a look at my control panel, and it hit me: most of what I was enjoying was worthless crap. Worse, it had not been just my time being squandered, it was my psychological energy, my creative thinking, my very feeling of objective as a designer.

My days really felt vacant, removed important. A person was hijacking my dopamine system, feeding me diversions, and doing just sufficient of my work to leave me disoriented and passive.
